Happy Anniversary to Dave and Dixie my second son and his wife!  I remembered the right day!Kiss

This has been a very busy morning! The duchess family has been moved to their roomier quarters, they have all had wormer and Duchess was shown the short side so she can have a life without the puppies! She is housebroken! She is a very gentle, trusting old soul in a young ravaged body. she came over and put her head on my knee looking at me wiht those beautiful eyes of hers - thanking me for helping her. I talked to one of my friends who felt I should have said “NO”. Maybe if Linda had just called maybe I could have. But Linda knows me well. We have been working together for years. She knew if I saw her face - I wouldn't turn her away. There is room for her and her pups - they have a very nice 8 foot by 6 foot enclosure. They have puppy food - Linda brought a bag and I had a 16 kg bag donated that afternoon - Fate? Sure puppies a lot of work, cleaning and feeding alone take a lot of time. These guys are just getting their milk teeth so are barely 5 weeks old. They can eat solid food but are nursing still - a lot. Duchess needs good nutrition so I have been giving her canned Holistic food too - Thank you Susan - these special guys needed this boost.Smile They will be with me for another 3 weeks before they can go to new families. They will all be vaccinated at just over 7 weeks and vet checked. Duchess will be spayed once thye are weaned and her teats go back up - usually when the pups reach 10 weeks of age. Reuben is doing well - he was wormed today too. He is such a sweet, small guy. He will be an awesome comapnion for a lucky family. The rest of the group are doing very well. Max and Ivan are healing well and growing like bad weedsSurprised  They are active, good natured little guys. Pixie is still cute as button and wants to be held. What a sweetheart. The littlest pound girl is doing much better today - she wants to be held too. these guys crave attention and loving. And know how to get it. I always have a dog in my lap when I sit down or a head on my knee. My hand is always reaching for the head that bumps my leg when I walk with my group - I feel like the Pied Piper - surroundered by dogs everywhere I go. So how could I have said “NO”?
