Turtle Gardens Diary
August 28, 2006
The skies are clouded over looks like rain - it so very mild! The dogs are playing, racing around the yard - they enjoy the lack of hot sun. The Duchess litter are doing well - they have been emptied out of worms
Now the food they eat will feed them so they can grow! I must have cleaned their paper a hundred times yesterday. I really don't know how they survived with that load of worms they were carrying. Puppies are very resilient. Duchess already looks more rounded - she was dehydrated when she first arrived. I filled their water bowl over and over again trying to keep her thirst abated. She enjoys her freedom away from the pups although she doesn't go far from them. The pups of course are not pleased with her leaving! and they sure can eat!! The dish has been replenished several times in the two days since their arrival - they have eaten one bag already! Duchess has also eaten 6 cans of holistic canned food as well. Her eyes are brighter and she is very thankful - she comes and lays her head on my knee and gazes at me with those expressive golden eyes. Some very lucky person will have a loyal devoted companion when he adopts Duchess. She is worth it!
