A scare at Turtle Gardens
Dave and I were sitting at the table enjoying our very excellent swiss steak that Dave prepared from scratch when we noticed “Chuck” wasn’t around. “When did you see him last?” I asked Dave. He had to think a minute and said “He was with me this afternoon when I did the wood.” I realized I saw him that morning when I was talking to Debra on the phone. So Dave checked the house in all the hidey-holes then outside. No “Chuck”. I don’t do dark - one of my only phobias and yes we are fenced in like Fort Knox and yes there a big dogs that live here who would eat strangers but I still won’t/can’t venture outside after dark. I called Sweetpea and took a small flashlight - thank you Wendy - it is still working!! and yes I went out to look for “Chuck”. No Chuck. All night Dave and I took turns looking for him to no avail. It was a very long night. When Dave was up for good this morning and filled up the wood stove, he opened the back door for the demodex dogs - Moses and Sampson rarely go out the front yet tho Sampson is gaining more confidence - THERE WAS “CHUCK”

I heard Dave say “Where were you Chuck?” and bounced out of bed to see for myself. He was fine - no injuries and he was warm. Where had he been? The only strange vehicle had been a big red, new crew cab. Did Chuck go for a ride? and then found his way back? He has never been out of the fence - did he get out, get lost and find his way back? What happened to “Chuck”? We will never really know as the only one who can tell us doesn’t speak our language. All we do know is that Chuck is safe, tired - he is sleeping near the woodstove, hungry - he really chowed down and warm.
Here is little “Chuck” our mystery pup.
On the plus side - Drummer the little pup featured yesterday has been adopted by a family with 3 kids and an old german shepherd who will show him the “ropes”. He is a really, really nice, gentle, soft puppy. Good luck little Drummer Boy!

Just finished reading 3 days of your diary/blog.
I didn’t think Dave would chance the drive with the recent storms.
Glad Oola had no side affects from the spaying.
Just email when the doggy bus leaves.
