Happy Endings at Turtle Gardens
Rocky the oh so calm and placid pup has gone to his new home in Telkwa today! He will be a much loved family member - going fishing, hiking, camping and long walks. Good luck little guy and come back to visit so I can see how big you get!!
Rocky
And a Happy Endings from this fall - in beautiful Yukon!! - Marka - this is your Riley’s mom!!
I just wanted to send you a photo or two and tell you how much we are enjoying our time with Dutchie! She is wonderful and doing great. She is also spoiled rotten by our guests at the lodge. Thanks again, and the best of luck to all of your other dogs. I hope that they will also find loving homes. Keep up the amazing work that you do!!!!

The Inn on the River in the Yukon!!
And Little Ned now Truman - one of Nell’s pups.
I saw your pictures on the blog - I hope everyone is staying safe and dry. We’re on an alert for flooding in Pitt Meadows too which is worrisome. Crazy weather!
Just thought I’d update you on Truman (Ned). He’s already 17lbs as of his vet visit on the weekend. Sadly he had a bout of worms but is recovering well. I didn’t realize he needed more than the monthly dewormer so we learned the hard way. Anyhow, he’s doing much better all around. He’s really great on leash, his recall is good, he hasn’t had a housebreaking accident for several days despite the fact that we don’t crate him. He’s also getting lots of socialization - he was very popular on a walk at English Bay where he got to dig in the sand and he’s already a favorite at my daughter’s school with all the kids!
We’re training him with positive reinforcement and noise distraction. The girls are able to maintian pretty good control of him by shaking a penny filled can when he jumps up or gets rowdy with them. When they need to burn off energy he loves to be chased in the backyard while the girls try to get his ball from him - he dodges and weaves to get away and then lays down when he realizes they can’t keep up. When he’s tired of the chase he lets them take the ball and they start all over again.
Just want to thank you again for sending him down to us. We’re totally smitten with him and he’s really endearing himself to everyone we know. We have friends with small children and they all feel very comfortable with him. He’s becoming the kind of dog every family wishes they had. Thanks.

And finally Mairin who earned her Herding Instinct Certificate at 7 months of age!!

And Indy - her big sister at the National Agility Trial - also a TG adoptee!!

So neat to see the Happy Endings, Dutchie looks great, and what a nice comment about Truman, “he’s becoming the kind of dog every family wishes they had”, cann’t do any better than that!
