A quiet day at Turtle Gardens

Filed under: Turtle Gardens Diary — yvette @ 1:21 pm

Although the temperature said -14 the air was a dry cold - not "down to your bones" damp chill. But the dogs still didn’t want to move off the bed when I decided it was time to get up. They tried "passive resistance" to convince me to say put but Off the slid when I pushed hard enough. We all got up and trekked over to the bathroom - it is really, really nice and warm over there - I want to go home!!

The four speutered dogs have recovered well - the boys are right back to normal last night while Bambi (thank you Cynda’s family for naming her - she does look like a little deer) was sleeping it off in her crate beside the wood stove. She was eager for breakfast this morning. Thank you Dr. Paula and Dr Mike of Babine Pet Hospital - great job!

The children at Muheim Elementary School were treated to a very interesting talk about Pet care, animal handling and pet population control. Lorna representing Turtle Gardens and Jean of Northwest Animal Shelter Society did a bang up job. The kids were entertained with Rayla, Kitsa and Razz. Thank you so much for reaching out to our communities about these so very important issues. Kids are our future. Thank you Rayla and Kitsa for being such great Turtle Gardens ambassadogs!

Representatives from Turtle Gardens and the Northwest Animal Shelter Society educated students at Muheim Elementary School last week on animal handling and population control.

  1. Any idea when we can expect Fraggle? We need to fit in a Kamloops trip and will work around his arrival.

  2. Hi Yvette

Thank you for yesterday’s explanation of the Group Foster Home Program. What a sensitive and intelligent program you have set up. I am in constant awe of you, and your Family’s dedication and commitment! Take care and thank you again.

  4. Hi Yvette,
Lucky Fraggle and lucky Karen - how exciting for them. Fraggle is such a cutie,
I can’t wait to meet our new puppy.
I was at a new PetSmart today and they had these orthopedic dog beds on sale
    for a ridiculously low price.
I spoke with the manager of the store (Patrick) and he gave me another discount
off the sale price, so I bought six of them, plus 2 big bags of biscuits. I got a
great deal - thanks Patrick! So anyways, I will pass these onto you when
    our puppy arrives next month.
