A sunny day at Turtle Gardens

Filed under: Turtle Gardens Diary — yvette @ 2:59 pm

The sun is shining, not much heat to it yet but the promise is there. The dogs are all running and playing. Sam is squeaking a rubber toy while Puff Dog watches him hoping he will drop it so he can squeak it too. Both these guys are death row fellas in rehab. Puff Dog has been here since December and is doing very well. He will be ready for a new home soon.
Happy Puff Dog learning how to be a dog!

Regal Sam also learning to be a dog -  something he hadn’t had a chance to tied up alone in a yard. He is meeting Colby here one of the resident seniors who is helping him adapt to all the different  activities happening at TG.

Jaime has a ride home! Irene who is adopting one of our poddle mix puppies has a daughter who is a long distance trucker but to the States. Her friend Norm is a trucker going across Canada and he will take Jaime home to Regina next trip. First the TG Bus will take Jaime to Vancouver where she will be fostered by Irene until Norm leaves. How cool is that!!

And we have two names to choose from for our new arrival.  Eden or Libby. Which one do you think suits her best?

She is adapting well and is such a sweet girl.

Stanley enjoying the sunshine too.

  1. Hurray for Jamie!

I prefer EDEN. It’s as beautiful as she is.

  2. Yeah Jaime!!! Beautiful pics - they all look so happy to be alive! I like Eden - more regal!

  3. Hi Yvette,
Congratulations to Jaime - you’ll be going home soon! Her chunky body and
legs kind of remind me of Gryphon’s.

Both are great names! If I had to choose, it would be Libby, it sounds a little
    more fun and outgoing.

Take good care of that cough.

  4. I think Eden for your new girl.

  5. Hi Yvette,

Great news about Jaime’s ride. What a network!

I love Libby for this lovely girl…as in, she’s Liberated now!

So sorry you were felled by the flu bug. Keep up your hydration level to help get rid of your cough (that’s the physio in me speaking!)

Bailey and I have been walking in the cold, damp fog the past few days. It feels like November in Bowser on Vancouver Island. But we can’t complain given your temperatures and snow.

    Take care!

  8. Great news that Jaimie can get a ride all the way to Regina - what an experience for her! Looking forward to hearing how she does in her new home.

Both are great names - I think I would go for “Libby”, sounds fun and lively (she looks like a spunky kind of girl!). I think that makes it an equal number of votes for both names, so someone will have to be the tie-breaker!! Maybe whatever name you don’t use this time can be used for someone else down the road.

Sam is an interesting looking fella…is he a Chow?

    Enjoy the sunshine!

  9. Well if Libby is selected Eden the name I suggested can always be used for the next lovely girl…if my Panda hadn’t come with her name she would have been named Libby. We met in her Libby, Montana.

  10. Eden is one of my FAVORITE names - I wanted to use it for my daughter but didn’t get to. Definitely Eden - peaceful and beautiful!

  11. That is just smiling terrific news about Jaimie! Gosh, Heeler-Border Collie cross that dog is going to be so full of focused energy. Both names are lovely but I’d have to go with my Grandmother’s, Libby; she never wasted a minute and was so loving and gentle and lived to a grand old age. Lynda
