Another day and another trip to the veterinarians. Today is Call and Peanut’s turn. Call is gaining in confidence – starting to strutt around like a a little banty rooster – definitely time for a neuter! Peanut is still very timid around the dogs – he is a “victim” the kind of dog with very poor dog skills that other dogs tend to bully. I suspect he was taken from his mother and siblings way too soon. He didn’t have the socializing so necessary to learn how to be a dog. These dogs don’t have the necessary skills to interact well with their own species. They are shy, their posture and fawning attitude seem to say “I am a victim – go ahead beat me up” And 9 times out of 10 they do. He will learn proper doggie social etiquette. But he will never be a good dog park dog. He will have his few friends who understand him and his family of humans – this is the dog who prefers his family of humans to playing with dogs. He is also the one who COULD be the one who barks at other dogs on the end of his leash where he feels safe. Understanding why he does it will help you understand his fears. Not every dog knows how to be a dog!
Dave had to carry Peanut to the TG Bus.

Call was crated so he wouldn’t intimidate Peanut. And soon Dave was off to Houston. After his vet appointment it is time for the TG to visit the car doctor for a tune up, oil change, fuel filter change and a new starter. Then off to Kal Tire store for two new front tires (we already wore out tires from the amount of miles the TG Bus has traveled since being donated to us by GSA Auto of Sidney) and to order “shudder” snow tires for the coming season (very soon from the feel of night time temperatures!)
The new pups were vet checked and vaccinated/wormed yesterday afternoon. They are barely 5 weeks old
They have integrated with the older pups. They will learn the skills necessary to be dog social.) They could be shepherd mixes or kelpies as they have foxy fine faces and are finer boned than a shepherd would be. They sure are cute. They have started to follow Temperance and Boundery outside. Their world is expanding safely and surely. They will be going to foster this weekend with Temperance and Boundery. I have a plan for pediatric spay neuter! If it works well then I will be sending all the puppies to foster and ped speuters. No worries then that they won’t be speutered!
And now the continuing saga of TG Family trees!
Hello Yvette
It was great hearing about Bonnie’s sisters and see some pictures! Thanks!
We adopted Bonnie a few weeks after Nip! As you already quoted they are not related and from two different litters! I attach a puppy picture taken at TG in Spring 2007 where all the 3 sisters are together being about 7 weeks old! Bonnie is on the far left side!
Bonnie was very shy at first but came along more and more during time. Today she’s still not a hero and usually decides to hide first for a wile until she’s sure there is nothing dangerous going on! Shes friendly and loves to eat! Being around Nip, a very active and agile fellow, she gets her share of exercise like chasing toys or doing showfights with dangerous sounding growls involved! She also loves it to explore the woods with us!
Bonnie says hi to her two sisters Tara and Muschka!!!
Eric & Claudia
And from Tara and Mushkwa – Bonnie’s sisters:

Next email will have fotos of Annie in front of her new doghouse – but only after she lets me wash out the alpaca dooogooo…tstststs, she should know better wearing white fur that l would see right away what she was up to!!!
Bye for now – will send more, but have to go to work now -

Hi Yvette: excellent post. I just wrote a post on my blog about our seniors and the consequences of human failure. I have added a little bit about your post here and linked to it. Keep up the good work!

Peanut has the sweetest doggie face ever! Way too cute! I do hope that he gains some confidence and of course it won’t happen overnight. Poor sweetie.
