Yet again from PGRH

February 28th, 2009

I have a few more days of being really really patient before I get my test results back Monday or Tuesday. But I’m feeling much better, Thanks to Dr.King , nurse molly and Dr Patty.

On Thursday. I meet baily’s moms friend Vivienne from University with a starbucks coffee and steamed milk. How cool is that!!! We had a very nice visit , thank you for making my day so much more pleasant.

On Friday was a very big test, when I got back to my room I had a surprise. Thank you so very much Jan and heather for the lovely dish garden, there is a beautiful sunset mini rose, a ruffled white and purple African violet a unique white kalanchoe and a young peace lily. How cool is that!! There is also a little orange cancary disguised as a humming bird. He is just too cute.

Table top Garden

TG is doing well Dutches and the nameless karelian are doing well, jackie of course needs extra TLC. The new arrivel are station wagons (long and low) 2 are labs with short legs and the last one has been haard done by, beat on, scruffy and poor nutrition. Dave is giving them extra food and they’re coming around. ie warm broth with nibble. There are getting friendlier – they were so scared.
Dave is doing an awesome job so I can relax and get better.

Get Well Yvette (From King and Molly)

February 25th, 2009

Hi Momma Yvette:
It’s Dr.  King  MD & Nurse Molly RN  here.
We read Stans blog this morning and tried really hard to get our mom and dad to drive us up to TG. We just know that if Dr. King and Nurse Molly were there we could get to the bottom of your sickies in no time.  Dad says we’re wrong and that he’s certain the docs are taking extremely good care of you. Molly and I think we know a better test.  We would just feel your nose and look at your gums and eyes.   Mom says we have to trust that those Docs know what they’re doing.  I think its great that you get to be pampered just like me. Soak it up Momma Yvette. You so deserve it.   PS Daddy Dave and Bear can WAY handle TG while your away. PSS Your picture looks great. I love the new robe. Hubba Hubba
Get well soon

This Phone Blog thing is becoming a habit…

February 24th, 2009

Life goes on at TG.  A little slower and a bit different, but it goes on.  The phone call was quick this evening – Dad needed to squeeze in some time to eat!

Tomorrow is vet day.  The Bear is going to start her day at 6:00am to drive the 49kms in the dark, hoping not to crash into any “swamp donkeys” (redneck for “moose”).  She’s going to trade off at TG with Dad so he can hopefully have the two dogs to the vet’s (another 40 minutes away at Burns Lake) on time for 8:20am.  Bear will work all day at TG and Dad will make the trip back to collect the speutered dogs in the late afternoon… along with all the New Arrivals!  Now Dad’s really funny.  He didn’t know exactly how many are coming.  He forgot, “One lady has three or four puppies, and another place we’ll get three more… or four.”  And according to Dad they’re all named “Chuck.”  Both Momma dogs are coming in to be spayed and rehomed.  No more puppies there.  All are going directly to the vet to be vet checked before arriving at TG at around 6:00pm.  That puts Bear still driving in the dark on her way home after a 12 hour day.  The next day is another vet day, so she’ll do the whole thing over.

Thank you all for your well wishes for Mom.  All I know is that last night she was transferred to a bigger hospital where she can access more advanced equipment.  Now she is suppossed to have a phone by the bed so we can actually talk to her (now that’s advanced technology).  As soon as I hear from Mom, I will do a telephone update from her.  I can’t wait to read her all your happy comments.  Her spirits are high.  She sounds very glad to finally be getting to the bottom of what has been bothering her for a while.

Well I know everyone really enjoys the very many pictures Mom posts on the blog.  I asked Dad today if he’d take a few for us.  He said, “Ya.  Sure.  No problem.  But then what do I do with them?”  Hmmm… Dad’s a handy guy if the tire fell off your truck or if you had a large building that needed to be moved accross a field.  But when it comes to computers, he’s kinda all thumbs.  So we’re going to have to wait for Mom.  Unless… if you want to send a TG doggie pic to me with an update, then we can help each other get over this dry blogging while Mom’s away.  Send it to my email at slabatte@gmail.com and they’ll find their way here.

A Short Telephone Blog From Dad (Dave)

February 22nd, 2009

As usual, when there is no internet or power, we do a short telephone blog.  Aka, Mom usually calls me in the city and dictates a blog for me to post.  But this time it’s Dad calling.

We have a really unusual situation at TG.  On Friday Mom was admitted to the hospital for tests.  Now when Mom gets sick we have a hard time replacing her.  This time is no exception.  It’s taking three very capable people to replace her at TG.  Dad, Bear, and Brian are beginning to understand what it’s like to walk a mile in Mom’s shoes.  And for such small shoes, they are incredibly hard to fill.  I am sure all is well for the dogs at TG… but the three people may have headaches!  I will try to keep all our TG friends apprised of the situation… But please be patient, as Mom will not be answering emails or calls for the next short while.

Stay tuned for another short update tomorrow.
