Another quiet but busy day

May 26th, 2009

I wonder why the dogs have to wake up barking at 6 am!! It was pouring rain this morning so they all trooped back in pretty quickly tho so I snatched another half hour of zzzzzs!!

Little Sumi sends another update – all is well at last!!

Hi there,

Just to let you know, Sumi seems to be settling in and has used the litter ever since I changed it. She is freely running around the house and playing like a true kitten when we are home, and cuddling up at night. I also brought her to the vet here and had her nails clipped and to just start a file and care timeline. So all is good. Will update in a few months but wanted to let you know all is great.

Have a wonderful night and week,

Caroline

And Layah send her update too – she is slowly acclimatising!
Hi Yvette;

Good news to report as of this morning when we went for our walk Layah had a pea and a dump on leash.

I have been keeping the door open to the outside to encourage her to use the backyard.

When we returned from our walk I gave her an all natural liver treat.

When we go for a walk I indicate that us ladies need to stretch our legs and it seems to be working.

And an update anniversary!! From my favorite Possum!! He really does look like Shaggy Dude!!!

Dear Nana Yvette,

Wednesday, May 27th marks the 2 year anniversary of when I came to live with my new Mum on Vancouver Island. I just wanted you to know that I am very happy here and that she takes very good care of me. She loves me a lot !!

I have a sister….who is …. OK I guess (shes a cat) Her name is Misha and I LOVE to chase her. She pretends she doesnt like me but I think she really does because when Mum is making our dinners….she purrs and rubs up against me. I just ignore her then cuz there is much better things happening. Mum buys me grain-free dog food because my tummy got upset a lot before but since we switched there has been no problems (and I think its delicious !)

I am almost due to get my hair cut for the summer – I love it when it gets all cut off – it feels soooo good. (I am only about 1/2 as big though after ).

My favourite thing to do is to go to the park. There is one that is not very far from our house and it is almost always empty so I can run around and chase the ball. When Mum says “want to go to the park” I bark and bark and run around excitedly until we head out the door. She NEVER says it unless we are actually going because I don’t let up!! Sometimes we take Mum’s niece with us. She is 6 years old and I LOVE her. She and I play and play. She likes to throw the ball for me and I like to make her chase me for it. At the park there is this twirly thing and when she gets on it I bark like crazy and try to jump on. (Mum said I could send you a little video to see what I mean)

I have a LOT of toys and I love every single one of them, especially soft ones. The best game is to pull each one out of the basket and place them all over the living room so that people have to step around them. It’s great fun.

Anyways its almost time for us to go and have a play outside, its very sunny here today.

I hope you are doing good and Poppa Dave and Uncle Stan – tell them I said hi.

I am attaching some pictures (and that video I told you about) so you can see how grown up I am.

Love Possum xoxox

Well with you Winnie will find a home that she will have someone want her around all the time. She is lovely looking…I am sure she will go fast once you are able to for sure put her up for adoption. The dogs all look like they are having fun.

Looks like Sumi has found a great space to be in. Better then a garbage dump for sure..

Hey I’m glad Winnie isn’t going home and is going to find a new loving home that cares for her, brushes her and looks for her if she should ever go missing and I bet you’re glad too.Oh that Possum is too cute and Shaggy Dude sure does look like him. It was pouring this morning down here as well so I used my T.G. umbrella! Thanks everyone for all the updates, love them, Lynda

Hi Katharine (Possum’s Mom). I know you are eager to come to a Vancouver Island Turtle Gardens Reunion. I’ve got a location confirmed, and we just have to comfirm the date. We are planning for mid July and we’ll make sure you know the details well in advance… wtihin the next couple of days in fact! Would you be our North Island Connection? Could I send you some posters and fliers to put around the Comox Valley to promote this TG event?

Thank you for sending in more pics of your adorable little Possum. What a photogenic little pooch he’s always been – fluffy or muddy, you can’t get a bad picture of that little one! Give him rubs from the lady down island.

Great doggy (and kitty) updates, and great pictures of TG dogs at play. I love the one with little Jillian’s butt in the air.
I sure enjoy awesome Possum’s photos – he sure knows how to be photogenic, thanks for sharing.

Hi Sara – Sure I will be the North Island Contact – and so glad to hear there is potentially a reunion on the Island. Let me know what else I can do to help. You can email me if you like (Yvette has it if you need it) And thank you everyone for your comments about Poss’s photos (I also think he is very handsome and love to show him off ):o)

Webster’s new Mom and I have been in touch and he and Possum are going to have a visit in the near future. He (Webster) certainly looks handsome with his new haircut!!
