Dave and I are very proud to announce our newest addition to the TG Bus Fleet. The original TG Bus is in Victoria with Stan who drives across to the mainland , loads with dog food and donations and drives up to Topley. He sleeps 8 hours, loads up the dogs and drive down to deliver the dogs and cats (from Simond’s Sanctuary) to their adoptive homes. This relieves Dave to get the firewood and batten down the hatches for winter!
The all wheel drive TG Bus will be our winter workhorse to take dogs back and forth on snowy roads to the vets for speuters and to pick up dogs from the pounds. This TG Bus will be safe and dependable for winter conditions.
The new little van is economical on gas, is in beautiful condition and will be used for clean highway driving. Why 3 vans? Stan is also our back up when Dave does do the TG Bus Runs. If he breaks down (it happened once in Cache Creek with 8 dogs on the side of the road for 10 hours!!) Stan can come and rescue him and the dogs. Another safety feature. Last year we put almost 100,000 kilometers on the TG Bus! So this little van will work her little heart out.
Many many thanks to : Al and Jan Keefe of Rocky Mountain Chocolate of Edgemount Village in North Vancouver. They donated this newest TG Bus. They are also going to help in a TG Fundraiser – a yummy CHOCOLATE Fundraiser – Wendy will tell us all very soon.
Here is our TG Bus:
And our sad situation?
We had a PAIR of these beautiful magnetic graphics on our doors – Thank you Rosemary and Sarah of Victoria who donated these. This week someone removed/took/stole the passenger side sign! How dumb is that!! Of what use could the sign be to anyone else? It is very well done but where can you display it? Please return the sign – no questions asked – just leave it on the van and we will put it in its rightful place. Do the right thing – the dogs and us will thank you.
We need more clicks!!!
The shelter challenge – We are # 2 in Canada which means we are in line for a $1000 grant. But we could aim higher –We have gained !! to #33 in overall ranking. #1 gets $20,000, #2 gets $5000 and #3 gets $3000. We can do it!! Email schools and ask the kids to support Turtle Gardens Spay Neuter Society (our full legal name!!), emails family and friends. The animals are counting on us!

Stealing the magnetic sign
it takes every kind doesn’t it.
I did know someone many many years ago who would remove them and stick them to the roof where they were hard to see or stick one sign over the other. If you haven’t double checked it might be worth a looky lou.
So glad your site is up and running again but I see you are getting flooded with critters but I guess it goes with the time of year. It does floor me how people can just walk away from their animals without a thought to their safety or well being.
Take care and Happy Halloween

Nice new wheels! Hopefully the sign returns. Maybe it “fell off” and someone will pick it up and return it becasue they found it on the side of the road.

What a dumb prank! I would suspect someoneo has incidently stuck it on another persons car without them knowing it.
Perhaps that person will phone when they realize its there. After all it does have your ph number on it.
Congrats on the New Bus by the way. You SO need it!
