Hi Everyone, I can’t begin to tell you how much happiness Sparkle has brought me. The past year has been really hard as far as my health is concerned and this little 10# bundle of love and joy has erased it all away and life is once again, joyful. My house is a home once again and I can feel the life inside.

Sparkle has been here just one week but we have developed a mutual admiration for each other. Thanks to her foster Mom, Anna, she is housetrained and quite obedient, she walks well on the leash and thoroughly enjoys our twice daily walks. In the mornings, we go to the lake and in the afternoon, our walks are around the neighbourhood. I want her to be familiar with where her home is so that, in the unlikely event that she is lost she will be able to find her way home. I rather doubt that happening though as she sticks to me like glue.

Yesterday, she had a day at the beauty salon and wasn’t too enthusiastic with that but will be better in the future as the groomer is very kind and gentle.

Sparkle sleeps well in her crate, from 10 p.m until 6 a.m. and is showing signs that she just wants to please me – it’s amazing what gentleness and love will do to a frightened little dog. As you can see, she has a huge yard to romp in and loves exploring it. Right now, I don’t let her outside by herself as the eagles are hunting marmonts near my house. This morning on our walk by the lake, she saw her first duck! Oh, my, what on earth is that!!! I wonder what she will do when the geese, who are bigger than she is, come back – you can rest assured that Mom will be there to protect her! LOL

We live in a small town and Sparkle has been to the Library, Post Office, Bank etc. and was welcomed by all the people who work there as well as many, many others. She will have a wonderful life here with me.

I am so very grateful to Yvette for choosing me to adopt Sparkle, to Turtle Gardens Rescue for all the good work that they do, to Del for the favorable home-check, to Anna for being such a good foster Mom and to Sparkle for bringing joy into my life again.
