Jillian’s Penny Drive
We have towns and cities and an Island joining in! We have not set how long this drive will be for. Should all the pennies congregate at a drop off point in the lower mainland with the final tally during a fundraising event with Yvette there? or me – Jillian? There are Turtle Gardens dogs and cats in almost every blink, village/town/city/Island in BC. There are some in Alberta and Yukon and Nunavut, Alaska and several warmer American cities. Even one in Germany!
So, I’m asking all my former buddies to please pitch in with your pennies.

Trixie’s Air Miles to Gas Cards
If you are supporting or you’re Turtle Gardens Alumni joining Trixie’s Air Miles – Gas Cards, and you wish to be added, please email King or Jillian and we’ll see that you get added ASAP.
Thank You For All Your Support!
I have started another campaign. Dave has to do a lot of driving and gas is expensive. And, I discovered that 175 Air Miles buys a $20 Shell gas card. I convinced my Mum to redeemed enough Air Miles to get $100 in gas cards. So, let’s ask all our canine friends to see if their families collect Air Miles. If so, let’s ask if they’ll redeem some miles for gas cards. Money that isn’t needed by Turtle Gardens to pay for gas will be available to pay for vet bills and, even more important, to buy good dog chow.

Choice Rewards Catalogue https://www.choicerewards.ca/home/home.aspx Katy In Kelowna – I Challenge everyone to send in their Reward Cards Points. I have around 60-70,000 points to be used. There are Winners/Home Sense cards as well. About 5-6,000 points for any of these $50 cards, and PetroCan has $50 cards for 6,215 or $100 for 11,610. HomeDepot $50 for 6,160 or $100 for 11,500. etc…
There are cameras and kitchen countertop appliances and what not – a lot of their stuff is for the pampered yuppie sort of user (espresso makers and the like).
But they have practical stuff like a toaster oven, good electric kettles and toasters, vacuum cleaners, etc. and quite a range of heavy-duty mixers if you or someone up there could use one for making your own bread etc. as well as dog cookies.
If there are any items in the catalogue which would make Yvettte’s own day-to-day life easier or better I would really like her to select it. The rescue depends very much on Yvette’s wellbeing, energy, and capability so putting herself first would be very practical and ultimately best for all the dogs to come.

I have come up with a plan and my dad has agreed to help me. I am hoping most of the TG alumni might see this challenge and get their mom or dad to slip a $10 bill or cheque in an envelope and mail it to Topley. My dog sense tells me we could raise a ton of money.
My dad has just made out his cheque to get things started.

Silky’s Facebook Friends Challenge
I challenge all of our 274 Friends to find just $5 per month for the dogs!
Silky’s Canada Helps Giving Page
We are 274 Friends strong, in our Turtle Gardens Group Facebook!
If each one of us donated $5 per month each and every month; we would be able to send over $1,300 per month to help the Spay/Neuter program, to help dogs at TG find their furever homes, and to the Education Program.

If you want to Invite folks to join you in a Spring clean-up, this is a great way to help Turtle Gardens with a few extra funds. Do you think you don’t have enough ‘stuff’ to make it worth while?
There have been small amounts donated as well as larger amounts. The dogs of Turtle Gardens really don’t care how the funds come in. They don’t mind getting $1.00 at a time or $100.00
Take a look at a few Yard sales from the past. From the most amount raised at present, down to a more average amount. I’ll be adding a few more in between, soon. They are ALL appreciated VERY much!

Jessica Beddis is a 12 year old artist who also donated one of her paintings for the Annual Gala Auction in 2011.
Please email Jessica beddis@beddis.com
for more information on how you can participate by purchasing one of her paintings.
My name is Jessica Beddis and I love dogs.
I would like to help you with Turtle Gardens by washing the dogs, feeding them, and walking them but I live in Vancouver which is a long way from Turtle Gardens.
One thing I can do is to donate money to you with the money from my paintings. I have already sold some paintings and donated over $1,600 to SPCA and some to Turtle Gardens also.
I would like to donate more to Turtle Gardens because I like your no-kill policy.
When people commission for me to do a painting I can donate the money to Turtle Gardens.
I hope to meet you one day,
Jessica

Here’s a fun opportunity to contribute to Turtle Gardens while you shop for your scrapbooking needs. Michele has an online scrapbook store.
www.scrapbookroad.com

They donate 20% of the profit from every order they receive to a non profit organization or a school of the shoppers choice. When customers place their orders, they get to pick from a list of schools or non profit organizations to donate to.
Her service is in the US, but any customers in Canada that would like to be able to have their rewards go towards Turtle Gardens Rescue now can. Turtle Gardens will be listed on Scrapbook.com’s Community Rewards Page
The amounts of donations will be totaled on the first of every month for the month prior and will be adjusted accordingly.
Please remember to SHARE this post and pass along the info to anyone you know. Perhaps a friend of a friend who does scrapbooking.
Thank you Michele!

Missy’s $10 for TG Challenge
I tried to find Carmie on the Bissell contest site and can’t find her.
However, LULU is my best friend’s cat and she CAN be found. The ID number for LULU is 111050
Carrie, Lulu’s mom has said that if Lulu wins, then the prize goes to TG
I have an idea to help you with your fundraising. I am a distributor of QR Pet I.D. tags (Canadian made). If you want to offer these tags for sale on your site – I would donate $1 from every sale back to your cause. I would handle the orders and the shipping. These tags retail anywhere from $14.99 to $19.99. I’ve got a special on now for $9.99.
If a pet has one of these QR tags and gets lost, the person that finds the dog – can scan the QR Tag and retrieve the pet owners contact information. The owner will be notified via email when someone scans the pet tag. If their smartphone has GPS, they will be asked to share their GPS coordinates with the owner via email. (Or the finder can visit the website and retrieve the owners contact information – in the event that they do not have a smart phone).
It looks like you have a beautiful property…..thank you for what you’re doing for these dogs…..I’ve rescued all my life – previously – horses, now dogs, and saw that there was a need for making fundraising a little less labour intensive….it’s seems to be common place that the people operating these rescues are spending every spare minute helping dogs in some capacity, they don’t have time for the administrative stuff….since this is what i’m good at – this is going to be my contribution to as many rescues as possible.
Let me know if this would be of interest to you? if so – please drop me an email.
thanks for your time
Louise Johnston
Thanks Louise. I’ve forwarded your idea onto TG’s head of Fundraisers.
