Many thanks for Kate (and many more people like her) for making a forever home for Kansas. I don't know how you find all of these generous dog lovers, Yvette, but I'm glad that you do!!!! By the way, what kind of coffee grind do you use: for flat bottom filter or for cone filter? Happy Winter!!!! Should I tell you that I'm planting spring bulbs and winter pansies today in my garden here in vancouver? NO, I don't think I should mention that! Cheers, keep up the absolutely awesome work! Sandra

YAY KATE!!!!!! I knew you'd fall for those soulful brown eyes and sweet collie face!!! I can't wait for Kansas to make the trip south so I can meet her.

Yvette, I guess this means I need another dog to sponsor. Who should it be? I have a soft spot for the older, bigger ones, and a particular love for collies, labs and pittis. If you don't have one that fits that description today, I'm sure you will in the near future with the number of dogs that land on your doorstep!

Wow, glad you were able to get the fence up with alot of hard work.

What a bunch of great looking dogs.
Lucky families that adopt them.

You guys are sooooo cool.

I can not believe how much work you do to help all these animals.

I wish all human beings could follow in your footsteps or at least treat their pets with love.

Cheers,

W O W WHAT A FENCE!!

That is not a dog yard it looks more like correctional facility all it needs is a roll of barbed wire at the top!
It should be quite a challenge to scale that fence, if a dog makes it over they have kind of earned the right to
run free....(except for all the obvious reasons such as safety and health ect ect.)

Have you named your new girl with the matted fur and red eyes? She looks so sad yet so relieved in the picture of
her. I wonder what her story is?

I am not in a postition to adopt another dog as I have 3 of my own but I have told people about Turtle Gardens and
have directed them to your website. I would one day consider fostering a small dog but not just now as I am in school
full time but maybe in another year when I am done and hopefull employed with a great paying job and a regular schedule.
Of course I assume there would be a home vist and a screening and that you need a doggy foster mom.

Good luck with your adoption center I can't wait to see pictures.

How cool rescuing these smart pigs.

It is sad how people would abandon any animals.
I believe all animals feel a huge loss when this happens.

Once I fostered two cats who hid in my closet for approx. 2 months, once they came out, I did not have the heart to do that to them again so I adopted them and I already had 5 cats and 3 dogs, now I have 12 cats and 3 dogs. Whewwwwww

Once I move I may look into adding a piggy to our family.

Nice of you, Turtle Gardens, to try and help Hearts on Noses.

RE: Counter surfing Beau

If he is not a scaredy cat type:

Put something good on the counter then tie with thread to it several empty pop cans. When they pull the goody off the counter it yanks the cans off too and they don't like that sound much.

Another tip would be to place that plastic runner mat stuff you can buy upside down around the counter edges in your kitchen. You can buy it at Canadian tire by the foot to fit your kitchen dimensions....they usually hate those bumpy tips on their feet pads.

Or.... like me, you can just accept that food left unguarded is obviously left there for them :)

I have passed on the information about Kansas to Adrienne who adopted Samantha the collie from you. She says people often ask about Samantha and are so surprised when they find out she is a rescue dog so someone who admires her might just be looking for a lovely collie...paws x for Kansas
