I have had great intentions since adopting and can't express enough appreciation for the joy our dog has brought to us. His name is Diggery and he is the happiest little guy with a personality like no other. I have owned dogs all my life-big, little and in-between but this little guy is super. I almost lost him on the second day he came here. Thinking he could do with a walk, I attached the leash to his collar and out we went. Ten steps later he had pulled his head through the collar and was off on a wild run. He headed for a busy street and almost gave me a heart attack trying to catch him. Luckily, some ladies stopped their car and several more cars and he eventually made his way back to me. Wow, what a lesson that was. I bought a nice soft harness and he is great with it. Bought him a choke chain and he coward in a corner and froze. Obviously, I have now learned my lesson and stick to the harness. I would love to know a little more about his first year as I surmise he had been tied up and therefor has bad memories of collars. He is the most lovable little creature and responds to affection from everyone. My children and grandkids now visit more frequently just to play with Diggery. He does have a problem with cats (there are plenty of them around here)but since that is his problem he will have to somehow learn from them. He has boundless energy and the vet says he is in A1 shape. I will send some pictures but just wanted you to know how grateful we are that he came into our lives. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are wonderful people doing wonderful work. Best wishes, Norma
